Emergency Department specific patient discharge education
ExitCareED offers your healthcare organization an Emergency Department specific option at a cost less than ExitCare Complete. It includes just over 2,000 English titles that cover Emergency Department needs, plus the Spanish language module, all in full color and with graphics. It also includes the ExitMeds prescription writing module, and optionally an HL7 interface. ExitCareED is the choice for use as an ED only solution, but also allows for an incredibly easy migration path to ExitCare Complete at a later time.
Emergency Department staff members appreciate ExitCareED because it's packed with time-saving features, yet it’s simple to learn and use. If you utilize ExitCare’s HL7 (or other) interface, simply double-click on a patient’s name, and all available patient demographic data is automatically filled in. Or, you can manually enter the patient’s data as well as the attending and follow-up caregivers. You can even e-mail a copy of the instructions to a patient at home.
Prescription writing with ExitMeds is easy, fast and customizable for your clinical standards. Medication Reconciliation, a JCAHO requirement, is supported. There is also a “refrigerator magnet friendly” Patient Medication Schedule that can be printed out for patients that take a lot of meds. Drug Interaction checking is also available.
Most users tell us that they complete the entire computer interaction, including writing the scripts, in less than 60 seconds. You get speed plus everything is complete, legible, provided in English or Spanish, and documented and archived. Plus, your patients will be provided with instructions they will comprehend and a quality of care they will appreciate.
